This is part of my “Meet Me Friday” series and hopefully helps you feel more comfortable here in this space. Over the years, this blog has taken a number of turns. As does our life, our interests change over the years.

Right now, at this moment in my life I feel I need to be a positive influence, someone who can encourage and be there for other moms. But I’m also here to be honest, not sugar coat anything.

#MOMLIFE

At any time of day you can scroll through Instagram and watch stories of other moms. You can search #momlife and see tons of moms with the perfect photos and homes. But what is most in common with many of these is their children are young.

My kids are older. I don’t have diapers, my house doesn’t have toys all over, no bottles or sippy cups. BUT that doesn’t mean my life is any easier. I still have cleats and dirty smelly clothes all over my house, I still have dishes all over my counter, my kids are still a mess and way too busy for me.

We are still moms, just with older kids

As our kids grow older, being a mom doesn’t become any easier! In fact, it’s harder. Navigating this momlife with teens and grown adult kids is just as hard!

I’m here to be that support system for all moms going through this stage. I’m here for all moms who are scared for the next stage in parenting. I’m here to be honest and true about this stressful, busy, mess of a life.

Our lives as moms change over time. We watch our babies grow and become adorable toddlers. Our toddlers grow and go off to school. We watch our kids drive off to high school no longer thank they need advice from us. And then we watch them drive off to college and start to be an adult themselves.

These changes aren’t easy. Unfortunately, we don’t get a manual when our kids are born on how to deal with each stage. Our emotions aren’t any easier to deal with the older they get.

I think it’s important, just like all those moms on Instagram, that those of us with older kids are honest and open about our momlife, struggles and wins. Thus, here I am, being open and honest, messy house and life, for you my readers.

My simple life

I will share more of my life with you here. I love a pretty Farmhouse. I love all the well decorated homes. I will sit for houses scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram looking at all the amazing homes.

Nevertheless, I do this though knowing that my house will never be one of them! I may think they are gorgeous but I’m also cringing inside with the amount of stuff! I love simple. I love a clean, bare counter top!

Online shopping is the best! I can sit for hours scrolling though Amazon and the Cartwheel app. However, each of my purchases are thought out and with purpose, no wasting money here!

For those reasons, I will try and share more of my life. I’ll share more of my basic, simple decorated home, cause let’s be honest I am no interior designer! I will share more of my favorite products and why. Every purchase has a reason and I will share with you.
